During my recent tour across the southeastern u.s. i made a stop in Atlanta, Ga. First of i find no real joy in large cities such as this. Being the kinda person i am, the kind of person that loves the outdoors what could
atl. have for me that was so great. Well i also forgot that my other love is service, and that is what
atl. had for me, the best service i could ask for. During my week stay i was given the wonderful opportunity to serve with an organization called "7 bridges to recovery". This was a wonderful group of people who serve "the last the lost and the least" in downtown
atl. What they would do is make lunches every morning and drive around to the bridges of the city and hand them out to the homeless under the bridges. But they would not only give them i healthy meal they would also spread love, by prayer. You see each time they handed out a lunch they would ask the person if they could pray for them. If yes they would proceed to make a prayer circle and say just a small prayer for their health, safety, and choices. So as uncomfortable as i felt i went out to serve "the last, the lost, and the least." When i went to serve on day one we encountered just a few people under the bridges that we went under. So as we went under the bridges and found just an empty bed we would leave a lunch on their bed and say a prayer for them as they go on with their day. The second day we went out their were many more people out looking for something to eat. This made what we were doing easier and so much harder at the same time. We could see the impact we were making on each
individual life but at the same time it was a very uncomfortable feeling talking to the homeless, as it usually is. Nevertheless it was beautiful. We came up to one of the last stops of the day and met this couple Abraham and Sarah (that is no lie)

. They were the two most passionate people i have ever met in my whole life. All they wanted to do while we were there was talk to us about Jesus and tell us how much he loves us to no end. And believe you me preach they did, each day our leader from 7 bridges would have to pull us away cause we ended up being late for everything. It blew my mind how all the could talk about was how great our God is. I walked up thinking i was going to get to share God's love for a homeless family and i walked out having a further knowledge of him. I never thought in a million years that would happen. I was humbled in more way than one on that trip, and i just couldn't wrap my mind around it. So here is what it comes down to "be ready". Cause you have heard it a thousand time and are about to hear it again expect the unexpected. And with the love of Jesus that will happen more than you know. So as you go on with your normal everyday lives i ask you this one thing, "look up". look up under the bridges and see who you can help, just by giving them a tiny bit of your time. look up to your father for
guidance, because you will not know where you are going and he is the only one that can get you ready.
